is it me or does a warrior deal crappy dmg, im lvl 13 now and i do arround 5 - 15 dmg, i teamed up with another player who had a crappyer axe then mine (mine is 15 - 22 now) and he said he deals arround 20 - 50 dmg all the time, i had 20 dmg if i whas lucky, but maybe he is lying i tried changing every attribute point and still does crap now i have everything in swords but still no happy face, i think i should do allot more dmg becouse i always play with a mate of mine (a E/M) and he says he does arround 50 - 60 dmg everytime i know i should place my attribute points into strenght and swords but there isnt really a big diffrence, i have a necromancer as a seccond prof btw should i reroll? or is there some magical thingy i dident know about? thank you |

Does the weapon your using have a minimum skill requirement and if so do you meet that requirement? Strength is pretty decent for a warrior to have because for each point in Strength it adds a small % of armor penetration.

maybe a silly question but which skills are you using on your attacks
it sounds like you are just hacking away without activating a skill before you hit |

I gurantee you your friend can only get in 1 spell per 3 or so times you can hit. Plus when you add skills like galrath slash, get a decent sword level, you'll do tons of damage at a quick rate.

Warriors normal swings aren't meant for damage, they are meant on building up adrenalin. Try this;
Use a one handed sword (fastest attack rate on melee weapons) and a shield with frenzy (increase attack rate, double damage inflicted on YOU) and once you have enough adrenaline, use a weapon set to switch to an axe or a hammer and unload with skills, I use an axe because I love damage. What I've noticed; Swords are a DOT, bleeding, quick attacking barrage of attacks Axes are pure damage, and they hurt alot Hammers are a bit less damage than axes, with skills, but they have a knock down effect. Use strategy, and it should all work out to benifit you in the end. You aren't making the most of your weapon right now buddy. When you use a weapon that requires 13 mastery when you have 10, you are basicly wielding a weapon that is 3-5 (compareable to the 1st weapon you start out with in the game) so, even if you have to "downsize" buying a weapon that is less damage than the one you have now, just to be more effective untill you have the appropriate ammount of skill points, it would be a wiser decision. In my humble opinion. -Erod |

You have hit the 'H' key and spent your skill points, right? Some people might miss that.
Just in case you missed that, as a warrior you can put points in tactics, strength and weapon skills which will increase damage, defense etc. At L6 I'm hitting for ~10-19 with a normal cleaver and somewhere mid 30's with skills. My points are evenly distributed between tactics, str and axe spec. |

You can equip ANY weapon, but unless you meet the requirment you are only going to do base damage. Get a weapon that you have the req. for and you should do decent damage again, even if it lists lower damage than the one you are using now. You are probably not going to have 13 in any attribute untill you are level 18 or so even if you use headgear. (unless you find nice runes) Unless that weapon is totally awesome and you want to save it for later get ridd of it.

As it has been said, the low damage is due to the minimum requirement for the weapon not being met. Exactly how much damage you are doing depends on a lot of things, monster armor level for one. Charles Ensign wrote up a great bit of information found in the main page of this site in the articles section. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...nics-id674.php Check that out, it will answer most of the damage questions people have. Personal thanks for CE for that. It has saved me numerous posts. Matt |
